Beautifully Written.

For the past few months, my blog has been the only place where you hear stories of laughter, woe and love between me and my closest and dearest friends. Well, i guess i can no longer hold on to such an honoroble duty. As of last night, Amirah has finally jumpstarted her blog, with a lovely tale of the love epidemic sweeping the whole group. But that's not all; for Ezar our resident chatbox flooder *:)* has published what has to be the best piece of writing he has ever written. If you guys really want to know how i got together with this girl or how Ezar played an integral role in the events of the past few days, read what he wrote. I could never have pulled it off the way he did. And thanks for telling my story too Ezar. I am so touched to have so many great friends by my side, who are always, always there when I need them. To all my friends who have been supporting Lete Abstrait all this while, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now let's give others the same amount of ...

Love

Image
Love. A word that means many things, to so many people. I love pasta. I love video games. I love how candy store operators give out free candy to kids who they find to be cute and amusing. I love seeing my cat stretch itself after it wakes up from a deep slumber. I love watching the sun go down after a long, hard day at work. These are all just different connotations of love. And how one perceives it to be, given the situation. Of the many different connotations and emotions associated with this four letter word, there's act of love which is held in a higher, how shall we say...regard? The act of falling in love . After being in and out of love multiple times in the course of my life, I have finally come to realize the absolute difference between falling for someone and having a crush on someone. The latter involves intense planning and determination. The former just happens without you knowing it. It’s like being hit by a runaway train – in a good way of course. Falling in love, i...

Breakfast At Tiffany's

A movie everybody knows but very few actually watch. For people our age, we've probably heard of it from the song of the same name. But do yourselves a favour and watch the movie. If you can find it though. It's harder to find around these parts than Casablanca. And Casablanca is hard enough. And for the guys out there, suffice to say that Audrey Hepburn is hot enough to keep your attentions fixed on the telly long enough to see the movie all the way to the end. And no, she doesn't show any skin. Lol. Almost, but alas, she conceals herself well. I'll end this blog with a snippet of the lyric.. "And I say what about Breakfast at Tiffany's? She said i think i, remember the film..."

Movements In Still Life

Okay, everybody knows how i am into photography (among other things). Well at least me and Naem are into photography. Okay, fine maybe just Naem (though you over expose like a prostitute on crack sometimes). We snap anything and everything that passes us by. Remember that Kid running at Nando's? LOL. Earlier this week i was pleasantly surprised to find out that Su is into photography as well. And her photographs...haha..makes ours look amateurish like hell in comparison. And no, i'm not trying to promote her. You're really good Su (especially the new ones. Really artsy..). You could really do something out of it. And i'd like to take this opportunity to say that I am truly humbled. It's time for me and Naem to buck up, double time. Hee. I'm not going to leave her link here in case i get sued for indecent disclosure. So i guess you'll just have to take my word for it. :)

Reality Bites.

Image
Okay the title isn't accurately describing how i find reality to be. Reality doesn't bite. Much. But sometimes your mind and memories play up grandiose moments which weren't really all that spectacular to begin with. You see, i caught up with that crush of mine. And she turned out to be pretty..umm how do I put this.. Regular? She's not even 'that' special. I guess the reason i found her to be 'special' was probably attributed to the fact that I wasn't really exposed to a lot of people at that point in my life. Funny thing is, i caught up with two of my crushes (one is from my high school years, the other my primary..lol) in such a short period of time; and it was dissapointing. I mean they were still pretty/smart/cute/entertaining as every other girl i had feelings for, but i....dunno. I guess when i was younger, i never had the courage to actually even go up to them, much less say anything constructive. Now that i have the balls or cojones to go u...

Sweetest Dreams

I had the weirdest dream. Though the events occured in 'real-time' to me.. It felt... like a whole decade. I grew old in my dreams. And during that dream, for the first time ever in my life, when i woke up abruptly in the middle of the night, and then subsequently went back to sleep, my dream actually RESUMED itself. Fucking freaky. It was a dream about an old crush i had, many years ago. The funny thing is, she hasn't even crossed my mind in years. I was pretty sure i wasn't thinking about her before i went to sleep last night. (I was watching the Gumball Rally, so the only thing i should have dreamt about was getting a Murcielago...haaa) It was a vivid dream-to say the least. I could smell the air, her perfume (i don't even know what she wears), the food everything. I could feel the cold, moist rainy ambience. I could dance to the music around me. I laughed at her jokes, and did mundane things like eat lunch, pointing at the clouds and imagining what they could be...

Listening to Cafe Del Mar in Wicker Park.

Image
The Aurora Borealis or better known as the Northern Lights It's been an interesting 24 hours. Last night i listened to Cafe Del Mar, live . And I must say, that it was absolutely amazing. I never even knew Cafe Del Mar had tours! Jose Padilla, was the resident DJ for CDM and was pleasantly surprised to find that the chap is immensely talented. We chilled out for a bit, caught up with some old friends and after talking for what felt like hours; everybody just sat back, and just listened to the music. Imagine listening to Northern Lights live. I mean shit. It was freaking awesome. They had live guitars and a sax-guy in the background playing along. I just sat there, closed my eyes, and dreamed. A moment of contemplation, self-reflection and utter peace. Everything for that very moment in time - seemed perfect. The mood, the light, the company around me. Just the right amount of...right. The drive home was just as interesting. The conversations we had were energizing. It made me rea...

Serenity and Sunbeams

It was a chilly Saturday morning. The air was moist, colourful even, and I swear that I could almost taste the morning dew. I took a long breath, and wished that a gust of wind would blow my way and clear all my troubles. As i closed my eyes and mentally lifted my body to a better, calmer place, the wind came. And she sang the most beautiful tune I have ever heard. The birds were chirping in harmony, the leaves were flailing about with utter abandon, the sound of cars across the causeway were strangely muted and the world, for just that very moment, took a step back and said, "Here you go buddy boy, this is what i can do on my good day." It was as though nature was one big orchestra. And I was there for the rehearsal. I just stood there, absorbing the whole experience; almost wishing that there was a beach I could've driven to. But I know that you really can't have everything. So i took up the next best option - Walking across the impossibly green, and undeniably windy...

Melancholy

Today has got to be the most melancholy day ever. I'm happy that a friend of mine got offered a job he's always wanted. I'm sad that he'll no longer be furnishing us with funky ideas like "Agogo" and "Yum Cha-cha". We're all selfish to an extent. I honestly wished that he would've stayed along with us for the long haul. We could've achieved great things. But I'm pretty sure he'll achieve great things all by himself. And i'm gonna miss all his pep-talks. He was definately champ-coach. "Eddie, you should learn how to delegate!" or "Eddie, I know Tata Young!" Haha. Brad you funny fucker you. I know Tata too, but i'm pretty sure she doesn't know who the hell I am! :) But one's thing's for sure dude. We'll miss you like hell you Caltex dwelling Audi Stalker you. It's been a rollercoaster month of March with you as the conductor. I'm sure you'll steer Audi into greater heights. Jus...

Here you go. Will add captions later. Great, great night. We should do it again for the E90!

THANK YOU

From the soul and bottom of my heart, I thank you all for the kind wishes and funky gifts. I am truly humbled. Though I have to say that this year's birthday is THE most funniest of all. I've had THREE people (You all know who u are) wishing me my birthday either WELL in Advance, or the utter ignorance of getting the date TOTALLY wrong. Haha. But hell, it's the thought that counts. I had people from my gym corner me (whilst i was listening to my iPod) to wish me a happy birthday. They actually had one really scary looking dude block the exit...haha.. I had people SINGING on the phone for me (but got totally freaked out, when I sang in tandem with them..hahaha) I got a birthday card from...MY INSURANCE company!! Hahaha..they must be glad i'm still alive and kicking!! Oh and those of you who bombarded me with 12pm msgs...i'm really ticked off :P. I was still on my medication, and the constant beeping of my mailbox, was just awesome on my health when i woke up. Thanks ...

Closer

Image
Finally, the spree of 5 for 10 ringgit DVDs gave me a diamond in the rough. Amongst my collection of useless rubbish which clearly personifies the tinseltown industry of today, i came across this movie called Closer. I bought this DVD for three reasons, and three reasons alone. Reason 1. The cover. I thought it looked interesting. Reason 2. The stunning Natalie Portman. Her beauty far outweighs the synopsis written on the rear of the DVD cover. Reason 3. Umm, i couldn't find any other movie to fill my quota of 5 dvds for 10 ringgit. LMAO. Alrighty then. Slot DVD in Picot Player. Get comfy on bed. Look for some butter cookies to munch on. Click Play. For the first 15 minutes, i had no idea how the timeline was supposed to be represented in the movie. It was THAT confusing. But i told myself to SOLDIER on....since Natalie Portman kept changing her hair colour (and style) throughout the first 15 minutes, and she kept getting prettier with each tonal variety of her quaif. After i final...

Faraday

Cleaned up my hard drive *yet again* tonight. Way too many ghost folders. Amidst 20 or so useless, empty folders, was one very interesting one. Stuck between a folder labelled as "Bigpond" and "Shifty's Hub".. (hehe..Brian u naughty bastard..) was an unmarked folder named "Faraday". That's the name of the street i lived for two years in Melbourne. And I had no idea what was contained in this lost treasure trove of mine. Click. Whirr. Ah...iTunes icons. These must be MP3s then. Biiig deall...i probably have most of em stacked up in my 20,000 song library anyways. First icon; John Mayer, hrmph. I obviously have him. Just to confirm my convictions, i dragged and dropped it into iTunes. It played. Which meant, I didn't have John in my playlist. What the? The song, Back To You, which must've been played and replayed in your MP3 players over and over again since it's release in 2002, may just be another song to you. It was just another song ...

Aloha from Riana Green!

Image
Ah, a beautiful sunset, a strong beach like breeze and a row of coconut trees lined up in romantic succession. If you squint your eyes just that little bit, you’d honestly be fooled into thinking that you were in Hawaii. You’d be wrong though. It was Riana Green, and the venue for Yop’s (Lop’s bro) 24th Birthday Extravaganza. Last night’s weather was truly sublime. The clouds were hovering above us, foreboding and condescending. Just when you thought it was about to rain, it didn’t. You could taste it, smell it in the air even, but it never came. The wind though, was out of this world. It was so strong, dogs were flying through the air, and at one point I actually saw a couple of paper UFOs slicing through the air, followed by a barrage of plastic cutlery. But the day began much, much earlier for me. In an attempt to hijack what little parking space there was in Riana Green, I was told to attend the party two whole hours in advance. Tardiness would cause a great deal of concern, with s...

Congratulations Fisichella, Congratulations Alonso. Finally Ferrari's domination is over. Now, where are the keys to the Clio V6? :)

Married with Children.

Last night, was a night filled with interesting conversations and quirky banters. Opus Annexxe became our host for the night, and though we literally drank enough to feed a small family, it was well worth the 100 ringgit we spent on the 'drinks tab'. Well, after the "Eddie Tax, Ezar's Bill and Nadira's GST" it ended up being a penny short of a hundred. I'm not being petty, i'm just being realistic. A hundred ringgit just for drinks...as in ILTs and a couple of Evians. A little over the top, don't you think? And Nadira's Pate. I guess that's how u spell it. Paaa-taaayy. Last night, I found out that Ezar and Nad both still think they're 18 and I'm the only one who feels 40. Damnit. And here i thought we were all getting OLDER. I also found out that arranged marriages actually work, and for the lucky (or unlucky) fool who marries someone without actually looking at your future spouse, you might still have a chance at making it work. I...
