Beautifully Written.

For the past few months, my blog has been the only place where you hear stories of laughter, woe and love between me and my closest and dearest friends. Well, i guess i can no longer hold on to such an honoroble duty. As of last night, Amirah has finally jumpstarted her blog, with a lovely tale of the love epidemic sweeping the whole group. But that's not all; for Ezar our resident chatbox flooder *:)* has published what has to be the best piece of writing he has ever written. If you guys really want to know how i got together with this girl or how Ezar played an integral role in the events of the past few days, read what he wrote. I could never have pulled it off the way he did. And thanks for telling my story too Ezar. I am so touched to have so many great friends by my side, who are always, always there when I need them. To all my friends who have been supporting Lete Abstrait all this while, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now let's give others the same amount of ...

Love

Image
Love. A word that means many things, to so many people. I love pasta. I love video games. I love how candy store operators give out free candy to kids who they find to be cute and amusing. I love seeing my cat stretch itself after it wakes up from a deep slumber. I love watching the sun go down after a long, hard day at work. These are all just different connotations of love. And how one perceives it to be, given the situation. Of the many different connotations and emotions associated with this four letter word, there's act of love which is held in a higher, how shall we say...regard? The act of falling in love . After being in and out of love multiple times in the course of my life, I have finally come to realize the absolute difference between falling for someone and having a crush on someone. The latter involves intense planning and determination. The former just happens without you knowing it. It’s like being hit by a runaway train – in a good way of course. Falling in love, i...

Breakfast At Tiffany's

A movie everybody knows but very few actually watch. For people our age, we've probably heard of it from the song of the same name. But do yourselves a favour and watch the movie. If you can find it though. It's harder to find around these parts than Casablanca. And Casablanca is hard enough. And for the guys out there, suffice to say that Audrey Hepburn is hot enough to keep your attentions fixed on the telly long enough to see the movie all the way to the end. And no, she doesn't show any skin. Lol. Almost, but alas, she conceals herself well. I'll end this blog with a snippet of the lyric.. "And I say what about Breakfast at Tiffany's? She said i think i, remember the film..."

Movements In Still Life

Okay, everybody knows how i am into photography (among other things). Well at least me and Naem are into photography. Okay, fine maybe just Naem (though you over expose like a prostitute on crack sometimes). We snap anything and everything that passes us by. Remember that Kid running at Nando's? LOL. Earlier this week i was pleasantly surprised to find out that Su is into photography as well. And her photographs...haha..makes ours look amateurish like hell in comparison. And no, i'm not trying to promote her. You're really good Su (especially the new ones. Really artsy..). You could really do something out of it. And i'd like to take this opportunity to say that I am truly humbled. It's time for me and Naem to buck up, double time. Hee. I'm not going to leave her link here in case i get sued for indecent disclosure. So i guess you'll just have to take my word for it. :)

Reality Bites.

Image
Okay the title isn't accurately describing how i find reality to be. Reality doesn't bite. Much. But sometimes your mind and memories play up grandiose moments which weren't really all that spectacular to begin with. You see, i caught up with that crush of mine. And she turned out to be pretty..umm how do I put this.. Regular? She's not even 'that' special. I guess the reason i found her to be 'special' was probably attributed to the fact that I wasn't really exposed to a lot of people at that point in my life. Funny thing is, i caught up with two of my crushes (one is from my high school years, the other my primary..lol) in such a short period of time; and it was dissapointing. I mean they were still pretty/smart/cute/entertaining as every other girl i had feelings for, but i....dunno. I guess when i was younger, i never had the courage to actually even go up to them, much less say anything constructive. Now that i have the balls or cojones to go u...

Sweetest Dreams

I had the weirdest dream. Though the events occured in 'real-time' to me.. It felt... like a whole decade. I grew old in my dreams. And during that dream, for the first time ever in my life, when i woke up abruptly in the middle of the night, and then subsequently went back to sleep, my dream actually RESUMED itself. Fucking freaky. It was a dream about an old crush i had, many years ago. The funny thing is, she hasn't even crossed my mind in years. I was pretty sure i wasn't thinking about her before i went to sleep last night. (I was watching the Gumball Rally, so the only thing i should have dreamt about was getting a Murcielago...haaa) It was a vivid dream-to say the least. I could smell the air, her perfume (i don't even know what she wears), the food everything. I could feel the cold, moist rainy ambience. I could dance to the music around me. I laughed at her jokes, and did mundane things like eat lunch, pointing at the clouds and imagining what they could be...

Listening to Cafe Del Mar in Wicker Park.

Image
The Aurora Borealis or better known as the Northern Lights It's been an interesting 24 hours. Last night i listened to Cafe Del Mar, live . And I must say, that it was absolutely amazing. I never even knew Cafe Del Mar had tours! Jose Padilla, was the resident DJ for CDM and was pleasantly surprised to find that the chap is immensely talented. We chilled out for a bit, caught up with some old friends and after talking for what felt like hours; everybody just sat back, and just listened to the music. Imagine listening to Northern Lights live. I mean shit. It was freaking awesome. They had live guitars and a sax-guy in the background playing along. I just sat there, closed my eyes, and dreamed. A moment of contemplation, self-reflection and utter peace. Everything for that very moment in time - seemed perfect. The mood, the light, the company around me. Just the right amount of...right. The drive home was just as interesting. The conversations we had were energizing. It made me rea...

Serenity and Sunbeams

It was a chilly Saturday morning. The air was moist, colourful even, and I swear that I could almost taste the morning dew. I took a long breath, and wished that a gust of wind would blow my way and clear all my troubles. As i closed my eyes and mentally lifted my body to a better, calmer place, the wind came. And she sang the most beautiful tune I have ever heard. The birds were chirping in harmony, the leaves were flailing about with utter abandon, the sound of cars across the causeway were strangely muted and the world, for just that very moment, took a step back and said, "Here you go buddy boy, this is what i can do on my good day." It was as though nature was one big orchestra. And I was there for the rehearsal. I just stood there, absorbing the whole experience; almost wishing that there was a beach I could've driven to. But I know that you really can't have everything. So i took up the next best option - Walking across the impossibly green, and undeniably windy...
