Untukmu, Malaysia.

Image
The hustle and bustle of daily life in Malaysia. Some find it oddly refreshing, others find it disturbingly hectic and believe that there can never, ever be order in chaos. You wake up in the morning, and not even five minutes away from your home you’ll get sideswiped by a typical motor cyclist going on his daily routine of making other motorists lives miserable. Just as you start yammering about how Malaysians have zero road ethics, you get cut at a traffic light queue that you’ve been waiting for for the past fifteen minutes. “Hoi, pantat, tak leh tunggu macam orang lain ke?” is the typical response given by the aggressed Malaysian motorist. Obviously we say this in the confines of our air conditioned car (preferably Klimat Kontrolled), with the radio turned to eleven (preferably R&B, but trance feng tau will do); loud enough to wake up your neighbours but not too loud as to make you seem ostentatious. Yeah right. Don’t get me wrong here. I love Malaysia. I love Malaysians too. ...

Black and White

I've decided to do today's post in monochrome, completely. And I'll leave this blog devoid of explanation as well. I think the photos speak volumes already. Enjoy. :) Note: The photos were taken at the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder launch in Sepang today.

The Color Purple

I think i have a thing for Indonesians. I really do. Ungu Violet isn't all that great. Yes it had some 'moving' moments, upon which my 'date' (lol) cried. Ur such a pansy gaylord. What it did have was a very heartwarming lead character; Kalin played by Dian Sastro. Hands down the sweetest girl to grace god's green earth. At least she was sweet in the movie. Anyways, I came out of that movie absolutely smitten with their language and the way in which they speak it. I decided to give a call to an old friend who lives in Jakarta (you know who you are.) She said she's coming down for a visit soon, and asked me if I wanted anything from Indonesia. I told her that I wanted Dian. She laughed and said that I can't have Dian, but i could have her instead. "I'm prettier than Dian okay," she said. Yes dear, you are prettier than Dian, but until you get to KL, you're just as far away and just as impossible to reach. So, to my friend who's comin...

Haze? What haze?

Image
A snippet of tonight. Thanks to our guest photographer. You know who you are. Amazing photos despite the lack of ambient lighting. It was fun though. Nice meeting you guys, it's always great to meet new people and share stories and experiences. Oh, i'll leave this post devoid of explanations, partly because it's late, and also because i might mis-spell some of your names! Leave a comment and i'll add them up tomorrow. :) ;) To the one and only Djebeng....thanks for the dinner. Should've had the lobster... :)

Take a right off Chulan.

Who says haze isn't a reason for people to have fun and enjoy the company of a few like minded friends? Great fun. Here are the photos. I'm going to bed now. Sleepy as hell... Dynamic Duo The guy on the left is high on the haze, the guy on the right is high on his flu medication. "Pump it, pump it, pump it!" ...she's pumpin sumthing else though. Lol. Mira mira... Hang Jebeng and Hang Sepah Lah...besar nya bukak mulut...u do know it's 410 on the Pollutant Index right... A proper University Prospectus Photo Friendster 'surfing'. Lol.

Musicality

I believe that music plays an integral role in the building of memories. I'm sure you've all had events in your life which can be accurately described with a simple tune from a band you used to love. A simple hum from a friend is enough to excite the cells in your brain to a flashback you never knew you had in your head. People usually relate songs to a current or lost loved one. "Yeah, this song was playing when we had our first dance or first kiss or first whatever..." We've all been there and done that many, many times over. But music is so much more than romantic moments. Honest. Take for instance my current obssession with Alanis' re-released album, Jagged Little Pill (Acoustic). Now the original Jagged Little Pill is one of my all time great albums. You know the one with ALL the good songs in it? How many albums have you bought lately that you could honestly say you loved every single track on it? Not much right? Yep. Same here. I've only enjoyed a h...

My Giallo Monster. I miss ya, you loud bastard. We scared a lot of people on the NKVE didn't we? Haih. Amidst all the problems of ownership, you never fail to bring a smile to my face everytime i floor the throttle and hear you wail. Hope your new owner treats you well. My Electric Wonderland Now you were one of a kind. Your kind face made everyone around you smile. Your supercharger whine made mince meat of most wiralutions and the harmon kardons made both our days a whole lot easier to bear. Yeah, you let me down a few times, but everytime i see those 'go faster' stripes and those 17 inch Mini Lite wheels..my eyes light up. We went to Bukit Tinggi together, had a pleasant girl in the car for the better part of the first 1,000 kilometres and sang countless songs with scores of people. We made a good friend lose his "glasses" during a trip to the "Mines", and rammed another one down at the Audi Hangar. Oh don't worry, he was fine, he just put the dri...

Right Here

Last night was fun. I got to see two of my very good friends get high. They were laughing and giggling like school kids. Hahaha. Over nothing! :P "So here was my ex..." she said. "Pastu? Dah jadi Y eh?" replied Sheridan. Then both he and Ezar started laughing loudly. Me and Nad didn't get it. I mean it didn't sound funny. It just sounded stupid. When we realised the reason they laughed was BECAUSE it WAS stupid...we joined in the hilarigy. I mean honestly, it was stupid. But it was laugh out loud funny anyways. We'll have lots and lots of moments for Q2 2K5. And if you've been wondering why my blog has been devoid of pictures lately, it's not because we haven't caught those moment on film, it's just a different form of film. And i think i'll post up Quarter Two 2005 up on this blog (or Sheridan's) once it's done. So there we were, having mindless conversations for the better part of three hours. I realised that the jokes have...

"Son, when you grow up..."

Aspirations. Guidelines. We all grew up with expectations from our parents. It involved a large aspect of our daily lives and included everything from studying, to where you're going to end up working, who you end up dating, and who your parents end up suggesting you to marry. Let me highlight the poignant fact that most parents only 'suggest' who they think would best suit their child as a potential husband/wife. And please don't tell me that you've never gone through this. Most of my friends have been going through some form of suggestive courting since they were 15. I'm sure when you were dating, you've heard your parents utter the dreadful words, "Son, she's not right for you." At least once. I'm sure you've heard it once before. And you know how much it stinks. I mean you're young and in love, and here they are telling you who to date and who to dump. But you see, they didn't say, "Son, tell that bitch to get her papad...

Pillow Talk

Last night something funny happened. Just as I was about to go to bed, my phone rang. My phone never rings that late at night. Usually when your phone rings after ungodly hours, the chances of it being a social call is extremely slim. Usually i never pick up phone calls past a certain time anyways, but this one had 'CALL' written on the screen, so i knew that whoever called wasn't local. Picked it up, and it turned out to be an old friend of mine. She asked if I was at home, and if she could call the house. I said, yeah, of course I'm home, where else would I be at this time. We ended up talking for hours. Everything from work, to friends, to family, to stereotypes...everything. It was one of the best surprises i've had in a while. I never knew i missed talking to her that much. For a moment, i felt as though my cynicism had died down for abit...and i was an adolescent all over again. It was nice to have a decent conversation with someone who can relate to me so wel...

Bright Blue Skies.

Over the hazy horizon, i'm seeing a glimmer of hope. A streak of sunbeam has broken through the heavy stream of pollution. After physically torturing myself over the past few months, i've inadvertantly stumbled unto something i never knew i needed. I mean, I knew i needed it, but i didn't yearn for it. Oh well. I guess you do learn something good out of everything, even if the source was far from righteous. Hmm.

BMW M5: Top Gear.

"Push this, and everything changes." "After you've pushed it, the engine is no longer producing 400 bhp, it's producing 507. And that...makes a difference." "In M mode this car stops being annoying and becomes...just magnificent. In M Mode you're taken to a time and a place where there are no jams, no compromises, it is a world of motoring perfection. A place where you can get from nought to sixty in four and a half seconds..and on to 204 miles per hour." You wanna take it on? Don't bother. Doesn't matter what you've got, doesn't matter what you've ever driven. This is quicker, it's faster.....it's more astonishing. The steering the brakes the power..and the noise...the driving experience just dominates EVERYTHING. This is one of the most ugliest and most annoying cars in the world..but.. At a touch of a button...it becomes one of the very best. It becomes... an \\\M5. Better than an F 430? According to Clarkson.... ...

April: It's finally over.

200405:230405:250405 April was a beautiful month for the three of us. We all found something exactly three days after one another. And exactly three months later we're all either sad, angry, depressed, frustrated or annoyed. Bloody hell. Here i thought i'd never succumb to the rule of numbers. Whoever said "third time's a charm", must've had his testicles removed. Oh well. At least i got to see what pure, untainted evil looked like. Lol. For something so despicable, it came in such a dainty and sweet looking package. Ah I guess what they say is true after all. Never, ever judge a book by its cover. If you did, and it turned out to be a skanky, distasteful title...burn it. Burn it to the ground, and do a little dance routine on the ashes. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea...you should always always pick the Deep Blue Sea. Ironically in my case, the Devil actually chose the Deep Blue Sea in my stead. Hahahahahaha.. :) Private Joke. You had to be there.

Steppin' Out

Steppin' Out (Kaskade) Here we are We've come so far A fine romance Of steppin' out to dance. Your lovely charms When you're in my arms That subtle glance When steppin' out to dance. Could you think it over? When we get older I'll still want you here with me Darling I hope that you agree There's something that takes place Whenever we embrace I'm hoping that you take this chance Of steppin' out to dance.

Here ya go boys. A sneak preview of what's to come. :) Montage page Spread page Closing page Oh and this is dedicated for you MALEIK. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YA OLD FART!!! WOO HOO!! BROTHERS FOR LIFE MAN! :)

Gossip makes the world go round.

I have spent the past few days doing nothing but immersing myself with books, new and old. I have read so many books in such a short period of time that my eyes have started to twitch. Irritating yes. And i think i freaked out a couple of kids on my way to a meeting yesterday when my left eye started winking at one of the girls. She must've thought i was doing it on purpose because she tugged on her pal's backpack and pointed at me as though i was a circus freak. Oh well, at least I seem to have lost it today. As my monotonous routine goes, 715 AM is when my alarm clock goes off. "Click" Fucking birds. I have no idea why they think that by having birds as your alarm, you'd automatically feel at ease with yourself in the morning. Bullshit. Every morning i feel like shooting them birds who berate at my window sill because they remind me of my alarm chime. So there I was, slowly getting my fat arse off my immensely comfortable bed and on my way to the toilet when i r...

Paradise Lost..and Found.

I contemplated on whether or not i should write down the events which transpired over the last few days. I was certain that in no small way was i ever going to put pen to paper (or in this case, keyboard to whitescreen) on how i felt... and the stark realisation of how wrong i was for so many years. As i begin to write this, I know that in many ways, i'm doing this for myself. I'm writing it down so that many years from now, I'll still be able to remember the words that were spoken to me. You see, for a very long time, I always believed that there was no greater joy in life than to have someone to love and care for. I always figured that whenever i'm dating someone, the happiness radiates from her. And if that person walks out on me for whatever reason, that very happiness...instantaneously dissapears. And for some wildly unfathomable reason, i'll find a way to blame my sadness on the person who walked out on me. Yes, it is human to feel pain but why do i have to j...
