What Ramadhan has done to me.

Image
I think Ramadhan did me a lot of good. Spiritually, Physically and Mentally. Below are some before and 'during' Ramadhan pics. I'm sure Ezar will have nothing nice to say but hey i'm getting there dude. Kurus cam kau susah ah.... :P Before Ramadhan Thanks Sherryberry for his contribution. You could've taken less candid photos btw. Mid way through Ramadhan

"Pour your heart into it."

Image
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds Awake to find that all was vanity; But the dreamers of day are dangerous men, That they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible. -Lawrence of Arabia Read the book - "Pour your heart into it". The book reveals a staid truism; If you can capture the imagination of your audience, you have winner. It is how a cutting edge company built a worldwide reputation through retail by leading with its heart.

So many things, so little time.

The constant pain i keep having in the back of my head just got worse today. The throbbing sensation has been upgraded to a whole new plateau of other worldly pain inducing sensations. It's as though my brain is having a ball game in the playing field which happens to be my rear occipital lobe. Bitch ass. Yesterday, Brian gave me website, which to his credit, is quite refreshing. It's a website where everyone confesses themselves and you are given a number; instead of a name, which disturbingly enough likens yourself to a convict. But without an internet nick or callname, you are in essence pretty anonymous. To a certain extent of course. You see, your IP remains the same. As undetectable as you maybe online, you are still pretty visible to those dastardly deranged psychopaths who inhabit this "confession booth", with an access to some knowledge of hacking. There are confessions which range from the cheery "i love this guy" quips, to the disturbing, m...

Eddie & Khalid Goes to White Castle

Image
"The rain just kept pouring." The day started off being pretty mundane - woke up late, went to work, went for friday prayers, went back to work, met up with Khalid & Lop, Halo 2'ed, then went for buka puasa with Khalid after dropping off some important documents to my new partner; who funnily enough, doesn't know the meaning of directorship in a company. Lol. Anyway, we got back home, Haloed somemore (Bungie's been consuming my life since Thursday) and when it was time for Khalid to jet back home on his trusty Superbike, we realised that the rain was pouring even harder. Damnit. There's no way for him to continue speeding back on his Police-issue motorcycle now. So Khalid has to camp in my place for the night. For those of you in the know, my room is a complete and utter hazard. There's only room for el primo, and my stuff, which incidentally takes up more space than i do. Khalid on the other hand, being the persistant lil bugger that he is...

Thanks for the photos

Image
Hey sherry, thanks for the photos! Sorry it took me so long to upload it into the site. Anyways,I wished i had stayed for your birthday dinner. Now i have a craving to go to Bayou. Hrmph. Dah lah bulan puasa. And to Kamil Gugila, man it's been so long since i've seen you. U still look like a dad, bro. And you still smoke like a house on fire. Lol. We had such good times in KLCC didn't we? We should do that again. Soon, maybe buka puasa somewhere.

Baccarat,Blackjack and Buka Puasa

Image
I think we had a blast last night. There were tons of food, tons of fun, and tons of laughs. I left home at 630pm and was on the way to buy some KFC for our first Pot Luck Buka Puasa dinner, when Amirah called and told me that she had already bought a KFC Barrel and told me to buy something else. So i bought KFC burgers instead. 20 pieces of wedges and 3 Large Coleslaw, for 5 people. Lol. As i was about to stuff all the food into my trunk, I received a call from our event organizer telling me that he doesn't know what to buy. I told him to buy lots of soya bean and some kuih. He bought FOUR Soya Bean jugs and 5 types of kuih; plus get this CORN JUICE. Wahahahaha...WTF was that all about??! Nobody drank it, not even Naem. As i rushed my way to Lop's place in Riana Green (since it was almost buka puasa time), I gave him a call to check if he was still waiting for me in the basement parking. You know what? He wasn't even there yet. Lol. Me and Mira and her friend Amy...

New/Empty

Image
Images of an empty home usually generates a strong emotion in all of us. It doesn't matter if it's an old home emptying out for the outlook of moving into a newer, better house; or if it's a new home, moving into a new, and uncharted chapter of your life. Below are some images of my brother's new home, and i thought i'd share some of them with you. The Empty Stairwell. The Empty Room. In the shadow of darkness

Mr. Euro

Okay, i've been getting alot of emails,sms-es,phone calls and notes regarding the Euro story. Well, I'm sure you're all wondering if there's any truth to the tale at all. You wanna know something funny? I wanna know too . As of yesterday, Lop has finally agreed to drop this whole shenanigan. After being bombarded with jokes and taunts all weekend long, he has finally realised that maybe 800,000 Euros was not worth being the butt of everybody's jokes (including my parents no less...) The fact of the matter is, we have no idea how legit this "win" situation even is. Scary isn't it? If you play to win you might lose, or if you don't play at all, you won't know if you've won. A part of me wonders what would've happened had Lop faxed his winning letter to La Primitiva . It really could've gone both ways. Win or lose. You choose. Oh and Brian , Lop told me that if he did indeed win, he would've bought you a better Put...

816,589 Euros

Get this. Lop just told me that he won the lottery. Which coincedentally enough, he never PLAYED. 2 cents for guessing what's the prize money. Yup. 816,589 Euros. Translation: Lop gets to buy his Carrera GT, A super posh apartment at The Peak in Ampang, and probably buy himself a couple of decent shirts for year end. Lol. Waddafuck. Anyone guessing that this has got to be the biggest conjob of the year? heee... Firstly, they asked him to fax over his IC,Passport and contact number to a place in Madrid. Secondly, they told him that they've already sent him the money via some escrow service...wahahahha...... Thirdly, if Lop gets arrested for international espionage, I get first dibs on his movie contract! Woo hoo...let's see what happens...

Ramadhan

Tis the season again. The season of sour faces and rumbly tummies. A month filled with festivities; from the pasar Ramadhan to the late night sahurs at 24hr mamaks. It is a month filled with trials and tribulations, whereby the true winner is ourselves, and our steadfast perseverance. I enjoy ramadhan for many reasons. Most of them are crucial in getting the real rewards of this fasting month. However, I'm sure most of my muslim (and fasting) friends will agree with me, that nothing beats the sound of the Azan at break fast. Especially if the buka puasa occasion is done at a friend's place or restaurants with friends/family. Funnily enough, today's Friday prayer was especially special for me. One of the main reasons being that, for the first time ever, i wasn't sweating. It was sweltering hot outside, and with this kind of heat you would expect most people to start perspiring profusely. I can't vouch for the guy sitting beside me; but I for one was not sweati...

Missed it. Damn.

I missed the apprentice yesterday. That's cause i had to see Mira, her friend Adli (without the "n"), Ana and Danny. The weather was great. Had a Mocha Frap Grande and doodled the time away. Came back just in time to miss the show. Brilliant. When's the next re-run? Anyone?

Who's the Apprentice now?

Look, let's cut the mustard and get this straight. I've heard about Donald Trump, Micheal Milken, Wall Street, Junk Bonds and Yuppies, since i was six. My brother watched "Wall Street," so many times he started reciting lines in his sleep. "Lunch," says Gordon Gekko, "you gotta be kidding me, lunch is for wimps." That was one of his better lines. So, to finally see Trump in action on TV/Cable/MITV/Astro, is a refreshing change. As opposed to an overflooding of reality TV shows from junk ridden teen bopping sensations like AF and Malaysian Idol, or Survivor XXX, now you have something which is not only worth your time watching, it also teaches you something in the process too. Trump, being his usual flamboyant self is not ashamed to flash his fame and fortune to the discerning viewer. He parades his private jets, helis, Towers and Casinos, but misses out on his past exploits which blew up in his face. His high profile divorces to Mar...

"Red"

Image
"Phwoar." I can't really describe my emotions verbally. The intense feeling of what can only be described as ecstasy mixed together with trolleyfulls of jealousy. You really wonder what these people do in their spare time, or if their work takes up most of their spare time, that their holidays become concurrent with working days. A wholly superfluous relationship. It's rare enough to see one or two of them a month, but to come across a sea of them all in one fell swoop is truly remarkable. Abso-fucking-lutely amazing. The scenery is blurred into a collection of red spots which fills your immediate vision, and sends a flurry of explatives to from your train of thought into your vocal chords. "Fuck," you mutter. Yes, most red blooded males, and some red blooded females, cream their respective underpants if they come across a bevy of beauties this staggering in volume and nature. It is a wholly natural human emotion. The sound, the heritage, and the badge, turn...

Nostalgia

Image
I've taken a trip down memory lane while i was cleaning my computer. And i thought i'd share some of these memories with all of you. The past truly does stir up emotions like nothing else. However, bear in mind that these photos will not be of the same quality which i have been posting as of late; since these photos were taken on a more mundane digital camera, hence the date at the bottom right of most photos. I find it rather quaint; as it reminds me of the moment in time itself. Photos of Me and Anis from 2002 Kuala Lumpur 2002 The downsyn3 group shot! Don't ask me what's on my head. I think it was a multiplug or something... Another group shot of us looking to...hell if i know...the things we do..tsk tsk. Another shot of us playing Halo. When do we not (Halo i mean.) Melbourne 2002 Remember how we used to say this looks uncannilly like a photo-op for a Uni prospectus? My room in Faraday. 35/188. A group shot of...

L'ete Abstrait

Image
I've had some questions from a few people who've been wondering what the title stood for. Well it's French for "The Abstracted Summer." I found it an appropriate title since KL's always experiencing what can only be called "summer". Lol. It's been an interesting few days. I've received some good news, reaquainted (caught up) with old friends, got a massage (finally, thanks for the suggestion Lops) , found out that my neighbour just bought a new Ferrari (a Red F-355 Berlinetta which Naem and Lops mistakenly believed to have a mileage of 400,000KMS...wahahahaha) and for the first time this week, i did not watch any tv whatsoever! So, in dedication to the hottest weather i've ever experienced in my life; i've decided to post some photos of the blue skies around KL. They're really blue. No jerebu whatsoever. It was 4pm, and the sky was beautiful. This is the front part of my house. Just the blue sky. Old ...

Wankers

Okay, something truly remarkable happened to me today. You see, whenever i go to BSC, (Bangsar Shopping Centre for those who are not initiated) I always use the valet. Not because i'm pretentious, it's because usually i don't like the hassle of looking for parking during the peak hours of the day (which is usually the time i'm there.) I drop the car, and pick it up when i'm done. Simple. But today, i had a special surprise waiting for me on the way out. There was this commotion going on at the lobby. Apparently one customer who wanted her car to be valet parked (or so i presumed at the time) was being shunned away. She was shouting and being all vulgar at the two attendees, including one misguided and unfortunate security guard. At one point she was heard saying "You Shut Up!" repeatedly. I honestly thought that this lady was one class act. Fucking "a". So me, being the typical Malaysian (lol, stereotyping "other" malaysi...

"Dead Last"

Competition. A form of exercise which revels in the spirit of blatant combatitiveness. To the winner goes the spoils right? So what praytell, does the loser get left with? I'm sure we've all gone through some form of competition in our lives. Exams, Sports, Penis envy, Gadget collections and of course the exponentially expanding Video Games tournies. Okay, I'm not talking about the one on one, i beat you, you beat me, we all boast about it-kinda of competition. You see, when we're on live, we not only go against every other like minded enthusiasts, we also go against the cream and the crud of the crop. Well i suppose that's fine, since there's always gotta be balance in any aspect of life. Whenever there's a winner there has to be a loser. However, in this bleak scenario the loser is a constant, in a wildly chaotic world of universal unknowns. A+B=Eddie and Naem. We're the constant. You see, it's not like we're not trying. Not to tick...

LIVE from Xbox

Woo hoo! Who says KL is offline for Xbox live? As of today i am officially online again. Below is an account of how i actually got myself onto Xbox Live in KL, even though the service, isn't offered here. While some of you might have remembered the nick Cpt. Kablooey of Xbox live Oz; i have resigned myself to a new nick in lieu of a brand new Xbox live account. My nick for all of you in the know is.. Frozk. Yeap. My old nick. I thought it made a lot of sense to use it back here in KL; or at least until Xbox goes live in Malaysia; if at all. I hopped onto the Singaporean server and crossed my fingers in anxious anticipation. Suddenly the screen froze. Great. Not again. I pressed the "A" button again to see if that was what they wanted me to do. Nope. Didn't change a thing. After a few minutes which seemed to me like hours, there was some activity going on my shiny new LCD TV. The "Download Bar" was ticking upwards. Suddenly the screen ...

Friday Malais

As of today, I am officially frustrated . The world is a whirlwind of horrors and past evils. The tyranny of opression extends further than the invisible gloves of the government. Oppression comes in many different shapes and sizes, and none of them are complimentary. Firstly. Broadband. I mean for god's sakes, why is monopoly the way to go here? You have TMnet's Streamyx and then the rest ; being other minute companies (when I say minute i don't mean it in the literal sense; just their market share). So my dear truebelievers, who suffers? Us, the consumers of course. Why don't they just let the market decide how much and how fast we want our internet connections to be? Hey, it's our disposable income to dispose of; so why don't you give us a choice? I'm sure no one likes to eat Nasi Lemak everyday, during every meal time. So why do we placate ourselves to the infallible hands of the national broadband dominance of TM? I'm not a naysayer. Nay,N...

Halo

Image
So what do I do after a long gruelling day at work? I mean besides hanging out with the same guys day in day out? Lol. We play Halo on Xbox. In fact that's the only game we've been playing for the past 3 yrs. It's like there's no other game good enough for us to compete in. We've played Halo so many times that i can actually close my eyes and kill someone in the game. However, no one has ever caught the after effects of playing Halo beyond the recommended surgeon general's health warning. While we have breached this no-fly zone many times over, it has never been caught on camera. Today for the first time ever, is the world premier of a patient on an overdose of Halo. Time:00:01 Time:00:30 Note the change in facial expression. More tense. Focused. Time:01:30 Time:04:00 The look of total submission to the world of Halo. Even if the planet were to rotate in reverse, the patient would still continue to be plastered to the TV.
