Look, let's cut the mustard and get this straight. I've heard about Donald Trump, Micheal Milken, Wall Street, Junk Bonds and Yuppies, since i was six. My brother watched "Wall Street," so many times he started reciting lines in his sleep.
"Lunch," says Gordon Gekko, "you gotta be kidding me, lunch is for wimps."
That was one of his better lines.
So, to finally see Trump in action on TV/Cable/MITV/Astro, is a refreshing change. As opposed to an overflooding of reality TV shows from junk ridden teen bopping sensations like AF and Malaysian Idol, or Survivor XXX, now you have something which is not only worth your time watching, it also teaches you something in the process too.
Trump, being his usual flamboyant self is not ashamed to flash his fame and fortune to the discerning viewer. He parades his private jets, helis, Towers and Casinos, but misses out on his past exploits which blew up in his face. His high profile divorces to Marla and Ivana were not the stuff of legends. Don't get me wrong, I admire Trump. He is the last true Yuppie. He's still stuck in the 80's. Don't believe me? Take a look at his toupee. He actually believes that if he doesn't wear one, he'll lose his good luck charm.
Yeah right Donald. Like that cheap ass quaif did any favours for you. With your money i'd buy some real hair. Or better yet, create a formula which will rip someone else's hair and transfer it to your head.
While Trump is definately a poster boy for The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous he is by no means a top tier player. On the Forbes 400 Richest People in the world list, he ranks 72. His net worth may be beyond our wildest dreams, but in the greater scheme of richness, he's not what he used to be. However,it must be mentioned that he sextupled his networth in a year, from 400 million the year before to what it is today. Now that is how you get people to notice you all over again.
The Gallup Poll in America states that 98% of Americans know who Donald Trump is. That's an amazing penetration rate even for Trump. Not even Paula Jones or Monica Lewinsky got that high, and they had "Sexual Relations" with the Presydient of thee Euunieted Staytes.
I'll leave this blog on a moral high ground. While some of you might say that Trump had years of experience under his heavily blinged up belt, and others might say that that's the only true method of success, I would strongly beg to differ. As i previously mentioned, Trumps no. 72 with a networth of 2.5 billion dollars. Years of experience do give you better LEVERAGE, but it is not the only means of joining the BBC. (Billionaires Boys Club..another show my brother kept watching..)
