Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha
Well to all my muslim (and non-muslim yet still celebrating..) friends, Selamat Hari Raya! Hope you guys are having a good one.
As some of you may know, my parents have been away on Haji (yes for the second time, and NO my dad doesn't become Haji Squared, lol) and i've had the house all to myself for a whole month now.
And it's been a great experience. I've learned the value of responsibilty, the value of having maids which actually understand what you say when you say it (Cooper S key and Briefcase are two different things lah..), and the value of being able to turn the alarm on (security, not bedside) myself now. So yes, i've been out till late, but unfortunately, it's usually on business. So yeah, no fun there. Lol.
But it's raya, and my parents and brother are in Mekah, and I hope their doing alright. My brother gives me a play by play report on their wellbeing on a daily basis, so Alhamdulillah, i think they're fine.
On a side note, my cats, which i only see once a month, are really growing up. They're so big. And i think one of them is pregnant. And Hershey's not mute. Lol. At least according to one of my friends. The reason i'm bringing this up, is because whenever MY friends are over, they spend their time with MY cats. Lol. Even i don't do that. Naem, Khalid, Lop and Najah are always with my cats when they arrive before i do.
Cats are great. They're like mini emotional pillows. Whenever you hold them in your arms, and they start to purr, you feel so at ease with yourself. Like, hey at least this cat remembers me y' know.
In the spirit of Raya, I ask all my readers for forgiveness.
Maaf zahir batin guys. I am truly sorry for any action i have done in the past 2 months (since i've already asked for forgiveness during Aidilfitri) which have caused inadvertant harm to you or the people around you. I hope this year will be a good one. For all the 1982's, don't work too hard.
For a friend of mine who's also an 82 and is going away, I just wanna say that i'm going to miss you when you're gone, and i'm so sad that you're leaving. Just as we were getting close again. Haih. But it's for the greater good, so don't let the opportunity pass you by. And don't let anyone try to talk you out of it okay?
Smell the roses once in a while, denizens of blogger, have coffee with your friends when the nights are a little bit colder, and enjoy the company of the people around you, while they are around you. Appreciate the finer things in life for 2005, and god willing, we'll all have a great one.
Cheers,
Eds.
