Surviving Christmas

For the first time in my life i ended working on a public holiday. It was horrid. I worked for more than 16 hours. I have blisters in places i never knew existed, my thumb is the size of fucking palm tree and i feel fatigue like i've never felt before.

But i feel refreshed. Funnily enough.

It's a stark realization that eventhough it sucks to be working so hard when everybody else is on holiday, it's also a refreshing change. It's 12.43pm and i just got home. I never saw the outside of the building since 9 am in the morning. I never saw sleet,rain or hail for the whole time. We had ciggie breaks in between and i had a chat with one of the girls (who i have to say is the most UNDERDRESSED person i have seen in my life..lol) who was around us at the time. That's pretty much it. For those of you who came and gave me support today, I am overwhelmingly greatful and humbled.

I am surrounded by truly amazing individuals. All of which i am proud to say are friends of mine. Even though a few didn't show up, the phone was definately off the hook with congratulations and talks of *gasp* discounts - lol. Yes, you'll get ur individual PSPs in due time...lemme get mine first. Hee.

The night came to a close with a long overdue phone call to an old friend. It was a conversation i never knew i needed. Yet now, i sorely regret the years which have gone by without a word or phone call from my part. Miscommunication usually causes massive problems. And this is testament to it. However, it is always best to find a means to a resolution after time has played it's part. Forget the past and pave the way for a new beginning. We're all human anyway.

To my really good friend who is going through a rough patch in her life right now (well two of them actually), know that i'm always here for the both of you, and that no matter what transpires along the way, nothing is more important than loving yourself. Life is a journey which must be travelled, not understood. There are dark days and there are bright ones, but none of them is a given.

Even when the sky is dark outside, the sun isn't far behind.

So to those celebrating this jolly holly; merry christmas. Wish i could've visited you guys; but as they say, pain before pleasure. Lol.

We'll do New Year's okay?

The Truth About Boys.

"It's a sick joke," said a friend as he sipped his Coke. "Why do good guys always end up getting hurt?" I tried rationalizing it, failed, then subsequently tried to generalize it. I tried to make sense of something that; try as I might, bloody well doesn't. Good guys always, always , finish last. It's the rule of the game. And we always end up on the losing side. Girls (in general) play the game well. Imagine this: You're at a bar, a girl chats you up and asks you to accompany her home. I can say with absolute confidence that she will get you to follow like a dog on a very, very short leash. Now imagine if the situation were reversed .
